Teck Resources Limited (“Teck”) is planning to assess historical mine workings in Rossland between Third Avenue and Second Avenue on Davis Street and the City of Rossland Public Works Yard from November 27 to December 21, 2023.
The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate the integrity of mine features in the area. This assessment is part of Teck’s annual geotechnical monitoring program.
- Teck has contracted a consultant to complete a drilling program for this assessment. The drilling will allow for the safe collection of data on physical structures present below surface.
- Our consultant will be undertaking drilling activities from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday, November 27 to Thursday, December 21, 2023.
- Traffic control will be in place on Davis Street between Third Avenue and Second Avenue throughout the project, with short durations where traffic will be stopped to complete project activities safely.
- Residents may notice additional noise or work during this time. Efforts will be made to keep any disruptions to a minimum.
Once the drilling is complete, Teck will analyze the results and determine if any additional remediation work is required.
