Warfield, B.C. & Rossland, B.C. – The Village of Warfield and the City of Rossland are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement for the City of Rossland to manage the operation of the Warfield Pool for the 2025 season. This collaborative agreement ensures the continued availability of aquatic programs and recreational opportunities for residents of both municipalities while enhancing scheduling, programming, and overall coordination.
Under the terms of the agreement, key conditions include:
- Expanded Pool Access: Residents of Warfield and Rossland will benefit from an improved operating schedule, ensuring better access to swim times, lessons, and recreational programming.
- Enhanced Program Coordination: The agreement allows for greater alignment of aquatic programs with regional recreational needs, including swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, and special events.
- Financial Commitment & Cost-Sharing: Both municipalities have committed financial contributions to support pool operations, ensuring sustainable funding for maintenance and staffing.
- Reciprocal Resident Access: Rossland residents will have the opportunity to access programming and pool services at the same rates as Warfield residents.
- Operational Improvements: Efforts will be made to enhance service delivery, including staffing coordination and facility maintenance, to maximize efficiency and user experience.
“This agreement is a significant step in ensuring that families and individuals in our communities continue to enjoy quality aquatic programs,” said Mayor Frank Marino of Warfield. “By working together, we have been able to create a framework that benefits both Warfield and Rossland residents.”
Rossland Mayor Andy Morel echoed the sentiment, stating, “We are excited to partner with Warfield on this agreement and be able to provide this level of service, which strengthens recreational opportunities for our residents and promotes regional collaboration. We look forward to a fantastic 2025 pool season.”
Both municipalities would also like to acknowledge and express their appreciation for the cooperation of CUPE, whose agreement has been instrumental in finalizing the operational framework for the 2025 season.
CUPE’s participation has ensured that staffing arrangements align with operational needs, which will further enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the pool operations in both communities.
The agreement is expected to result in a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for pool-goers, with enhanced programming and accessibility improvements. Full details, including updated schedules and program offerings, will be available on both the Village of Warfield and City of Rossland websites and social media channels in the coming weeks.
