Interface Fuel Management Program
A Community Wildfire Protection Program for communities in the Kootenay’s three regional district’s (RDKB, RDCK and RDEK) is underway. B.A. Blackwell & Associates has been contracted to manage an Operational Fuel Management Program throughout these three regions. John McLean, Chief Administrative Officer of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary is the Program Sponsor and Bruce Blackwell is the Program Manager.
The primary goal of the project is to reduce hazardous forest fuel loads as identified in Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) adjacent to communities throughout the three Regional Districts. Local forest workers, forest professionals, and contractors will do the majority of this work. For more information click here
Police - RCMP
The Royal Canadian Mountain Police (RCMP) are responsible for policing in the municipality and have a detachment in Trail and are located at 3601 Laburnum Drive, Trail, BC. For non-emergencies call 250-364-2566.
Fire Services
Regional Fire Services located in the RDKB building on Rossland Avenue in Trail BC are responsible for managing Fire Services in Rossland. They are supported by the Rossland Volunteer Fire Department. The Rossland Fire Hall is located at 2335 Second Avenue. Fire Chief, Gerry Woodhouse.
Ambulance & Hospital Services
The Rossland Ambulance bay is located at 1961 Georgia St. The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital is a 10 to 15 minute drive and is a full service hospital including 24 hour emergency medical services. Click here for more on health care in our region.
Emergency Plan
