Resources for Seniors
An Age-Friendly Community
Rossland is one of ten communities in B.C. that was recognized in 2019 by the Province as age-friendly. An age-friendly community is one where older adults can "age actively" - that is to live in security, enjoy good health, and continue to participate fully in society. And the good news is that becoming age-friendly not only improves quality of life for seniors, it also creates a more inclusive, safe and accessible community for everyone.
Senior Citizens Association of BC
Rossland Branch No. 45 is located at 1916 First Avenue. The Seniors Centre Association, is a registered non-profit organization, that operates on an open-door policy. Membership is available for $10 per year. This contributes to 95% of the free perks available at the Centre. Some of the programs on offer include a quilters guild, an art program, computer programming and skills.
Rossland- Age Friendly Initiative
Rossland Age-friendly is a program run by the City of Rossland with the goal of helping people age well in our community. We are here to provide information and support local business and service groups that offer services or programs for seniors. We also run some activities to help fill in the gaps where we see a need such as organizing health and wellness workshops or social activities.
