Radon 100 Test Kit Challenge

The City of Rossland is participating in the 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge, in partnership with Health Canada, to raise awareness on radon across Canada.
Radon is an invisible radioactive gas that causes lung cancer. Radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Reducing radon in your home is straight forward but starts with data collection.
The 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge targets municipalities across Canada where radon testing has thus far been limited, but where there is a potential for homes to have elevated radon levels. The program will provide up to 100 test kits to each participating municipality, to be distributed to citizens for free.
Participants must be able to pick up the test at Rossland City Hall between November 15-22, 2024 and drop it off in March between 3 – 7, 2025. These tests are time sensitive.
