Radon Rossland
The City of Rossland participated in the 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge in 2024-2025, in partnership with Health Canada, to raise awareness on radon across Canada.
Radon is an invisible radioactive gas that causes lung cancer. Radon is the #1 cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Reducing radon in your home is straight forward but starts with data collection.
In 2024-2025 the City participated in ‘The 100 Radon Test Kit Challenge’ which targeted municipalities across Canada where radon testing had been limited, but where there is a potential for homes to have elevated radon levels. The program provided 150 test kits to that were distributed to citizens for free.
