In observance of the National Day Truth and Reconciliation.
This day serves as a time for Canadians to honour Survivors, their families, and communities, and to reflect on the tragic history and lasting impacts of residential schools so they are never forgotten. The City encourages staff and community members to take time to learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful ways. This could include:
• Listening to the stories of Survivors and their families
• Reading the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action
• Wearing an orange shirt
• Attending a cultural gathering or participating in an online event.
