The City of Rossland is seeking qualified proponents to perform forest fuel treatment work for the purposes of wildland fire hazard mitigation on three (3) treatment blocks located within the City of Rossland. These treatments will reduce fire risk in the immediate interface, facilitate access for fire suppression resources and demonstrate the principles of shaded fuel breaks to adjacent landowners.

The City of Rossland has completed fuel management prescriptions for the three (3) treatment units.  The City of Rossland wishes to solicit proposals to complete the operational fuel treatment as prescribed.

The project is expected to be completed within a targeted operational window of September 30, 2022 to October 31, 2022 (may be extended based on fire conditions).

An optional Proponent’s Meeting and field tour will be held on September 20, 2022 at 10:00 am.  Interested proponents shall meet outside of 1899 Columbia Avenue, Rossland, BC – (old Rossland City Hall building).  Those expecting to attend are required to register with the City by sending an email to planner@rossland.ca  The Proponents Meeting will review the overall project specifications including standards and the contract requirements. Proponents are strongly encouraged to field review all of the units prior to submitting a proposal. Proposals must be submitted by September 27, 2022 before 4 pm

One (1) electronic version of the Proposal supplied via email in pdf format.  Proponent submissions will not be accepted after September 27, 2022 4 pm (local time). Proposals shall be submitted with the following subject line to:

Please note the following:

  • It is the sole responsibility of the Proponent to ensure the City receives their Proposal prior to the closing time and date. All costs to prepare the Proposal shall be borne solely by the Proponent.
  • Late proposals will NOT be accepted.
  • The computer clock in the offices of the City of Rossland determines the official closing time for this RFP.
  • Facsimile (fax) or hardcopy proposals for this RFP will NOT be accepted.
  • Proposals will NOT be opened in public.
  • The City reserves the right to reject all proposals and re-tender the project
