Dog Parking

The City installed "Dog Parking" stations last year around town to keep dogs off of main foot traffic areas while their owners run a quick errand.

DOGS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO BE TIED AND LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE DOWNTOWN CORE.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A BRIEF STOP TO PICK UP A COFFEE, YOUR MAIL OR AN ITEM AT THE GROCERY STORE, THE CITY ENCOURAGES YOU TO USE THE DESIGNATED DOG PARKING STATIONS WHEN WALKING IN THE DOWNTOWN CORE WITH YOUR LEASHED DOG.

ANY DOG LEFT UNATTENDED AT THE STATIONS FOR AN OVER-EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME MAY BE TAKEN TO THE SPCA AND/OR THE OWNER WILL BE FINED.

PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER DOGS TIED AT THE STATIONS. PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THESE DOG PARKING STATIONS OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED. THANK YOU.

You can locate these parking stations:

  • Below Ferraro Foods by delivery bay (off of alley)
  • Beside City Hall (east side)
  • Behind BC Liquor Store (west of parking lot)
  • West of the Cold Beer and Wine store by the parking lot
  • East of Library in green space
  • West of Post office in walkway

Tail's Pet Supplies in Rossland has made their own Dog Parking Station in the alley behind their building that gives shade and water to all visiting dogs. Thank you to all people and businesses that have cooperated.

Please put you garbage in a metal or plastic bin with a secure lid. As per the Wildlife Attractant Control Bylaw, any garbage not placed in a secured bin may be fined a minimum of $100. Please keep wildlife out of your garbage and help us keep the City clean. THANK YOU!
